Breast Milk Sugars Give Infants a Protective Coat

New findings by researchers at University of California have found that some sugars in breastmilk are not there to feed the infant but in fact feed healthy bacteria that lines the walls of the baby’s intestines providing great protection against harmful bacteria.

I’m glad that more and more research is being done into the benefits of breastmilk, which will hopefully encourage more women to breastfeed their baby longer.
